The Management of Burned Hand


Abstract
Burns of hand, even when limited in extent, may severely limit function, thereby making job retraining necessary or even rendering subsequent job performance impossible, and therefore, represent a challenging problem in the management because of severe functional disability.
In general the functional limitation of burned hand is determined by the thermal injury. however, infection, pressure necrosis, inactivity, poor positioning, subsequent scarring and contractures are intimately related to functional disability. subse quent The .-cal of treatment of burned hand is the prevention of deformities and maintain the function.
Reccnstructicn of t :e deformed hand may, begin when entire burn wcund is healed and the patient i in positive nitrogen balence.
